Intermittent (self) catheterisation and UTI prevention
We are undertaking a randomised control trial to evaluate a way to reduce the risk of UTIs in people who undertake self-catheterisation. The trial has Human Research Ethics approval, is registered with the Australian and New Zealand Clinical Trial registry (ACTRN12623000917639) and is funded by a National Health and Medical Research Council grant. The study involves the use of an antiseptic wipe prior to intermittent urinary catheterisation.
We are currently recruiting participants for the trial.
