NSW-ACT Section Professional Development Scholarship

The NSW-ACT Section of Australia and New Zealand Urological Nurses Society (ANZUNS) support our members to engage in continuous education activities to extend their urology and urological nursing knowledge and skills and/or to showcase their research study.

The 2026 NSW-ACT Professional Development Scholarship offers financial assistance of up to AUD$1,500 to ONE successful applicant towards the cost of attending the USANZ/ ANZUNS Annual Scientific Meeting in Melbourne on 28 February – 2 March 2026. 

Members of the NSW-ACT Section are eligible to apply, by close of business 5th January 2026. 

Criteria for Application:

  1. Applicants must be a NSW-ACT Section financial member for 12-24 months and have not received any NSW-ACT Section scholarship funding for the previous 2 years.
  2. Registered and Enrolled nurses with current Australian Nurses registration and practicing in NSW or ACT are eligible to apply.
  3. Nurses involved in the care of Urological patients at least 16 hours a week.
  4. Nurses who can show evidence of having attended at least one NSW-ACT Section educational activity or conference in the past 24 months.
  5. Nurses who can demonstrate an ongoing commitment to improve urological nursing standards or urologic care in their workplace.

Documentation required:

All applicants are required to submit the following:

  1. Completed and signed NSW-ACT Section Scholarship application form
  2. Copy of current AHPRA registration to practice as a nurse in Australia
  3. Brief Curriculum Vitae including one professional referee
  4. Evidence of Section educational events attended in the past 24 months.
  5. Outline of how the knowledge gained from the ANZUNS ASM 2026 will be disseminated to colleagues

 

Conditions of NSW-ACT Section Scholarship:

  1. Application for sponsorship from other sources does not exclude you from applying for this scholarship but must be disclosed or the applicant risks payment to cover this scholarship.
  2. A panel of three nominated representatives from the NSW-ACT Section Committee  will assess and decide on the successful applicant, which is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  3. The successful applicant will be notified by email and/or phone by 9th January, before early bird registration ends on Friday 16 January 2026.
  4. The successful applicants must use the scholarship to attend the ANZUNS ASM 2026.
  5. The successful applicant MUST submit a written report of 500-800 words within four weeks of attending the event and may be published on the ANZUNS NSW-ACT Section website .
  6. The successful applicant is responsible for the timely submission of the conference report by 31st March 2026.
  7. If the successful applicant withdraws from the event, you MUST notify the NSW-ACT Section Executive committee immediately, to allow possible reallocation of funds.
  8. Reimbursement of up to $1500 to cover conference registration and accommodation and/ or travel upon submission of supporting receipts and accompanying report of learnings at conference.
