About the Role

Join our team as a Prostate Cancer Telenurse and be part of Australia's first dedicated Telenursing service for prostate cancer. You'll provide specialist nursing support, care, and advice to thousands of people affected by prostate cancer, no matter where they live in Australia. This role can be based in Sydney, Brisbane, or other locations. This role is a part-time, Mon- Wed mat leave cover (July 24 - April 25).

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive, evidence-based information and education via phone and electronic communications.

• Offer practical and emotional support to individuals affected by prostate cancer.

• Guide patients to appropriate internal and external support programs.

• Act as a resource for health professionals and community organizations.

• Contribute to educational programs and staff development.

• Participate in quality improvement activities and research programs.

• Maintain professional standards in nursing and cancer care.

 

Skills & Experience:

• Registered Nurse (Division 1-General) with AHPRA registration.

• Minimum of 5 years post-graduation experience.

• At least 3 years’ experience working with prostate cancer patients.

• Advanced knowledge in urology or oncology nursing and supportive care.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Proficient in MS Office, internet, email, and databases.
